AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT AN INMATE CLASSIFIED IN TRUSTY STATUS MAY BE AWARDED TRUSTY EARNED TIME IN ADDITION TO OTHER REDUCTIONS OF SENTENCE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. In addition to any other administrative reduction of sentence, an inmate in trusty status as defined by the classification committee of the Department of Corrections may be awarded a trusty time allowance of ten (10) days reduction of sentence for each thirty (30) days of participation in programs while in trusty status.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
